Aktivisten: Betydelsefull dag för alla i Bhutan
En seger för hbtq-communityt. Så beskriver aktivisten Tashi Tsheten sitt hemland Bhutans beslut att legalisera samkönade relationer.
Han säger att han är väldigt glad och beskriver dagen som betydelsefull för alla människor i Bhutan.
– Alla som har stått upp för hbtq-communityt i Bhuan kommer att fira i dag, för att det här är vår seger, säger han.
Parlamentet har klubbat lagändringen, men för att den formellt ska slå igenom måste även landets kung ge grönt ljus.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Bhutan may face legal challenges not faced by non-LGBT people. However, in December 2020, the Parliament decriminalized same-sex sexual activity. The Penal Code (articles 213 and 214) had previously stated that same-sex sexual acts are punishable by a prison sentence of between one month to less than one year. However, the law is not enforced after being reviewed by the Parliament.LGBT people in Bhutan face little violence or persecution, though most Bhutanese did not know they even exist with the idea of being gay or transgender "pretty much unheard of." In recent years, due to Bhutan opening up more to the outside world, Bhutanese LGBT people have started to publicly come out and establish visible outlets for the LGBT community. Therefore, attitudes among the general population are changing.
