Attackerade synagoga – kallade judar för ”fiender”
Attacken mot synagogan i den tyska staden Halle förra året ”var inte ett misstag”. Det sa den 28-årige gärningsmannen Stephan Balliet under andra rättegångsdagen, rapporterar AFP.
Balliet, som medgett att hans motiv var högerextrema, lyckades inte ta sig in i synagogan. Han anklagas däremot för att ha skjutit ihjäl en förbipasserande kvinna och en man på en kebabrestaurang i närheten av synagogan.
Balliet är också åtalad för att ha planerat flera mord, eftersom han anlände till synagogan fullt beväpnad. Under rättegången kallade han synagogans besökare som var där för att fira den judiska högtiden Yom Kippur för ”mina fiender”.

The Halle synagogue shooting occurred on 9 October 2019 in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and continued in nearby Landsberg. After unsuccessfully trying to enter the synagogue in Halle during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, the attacker fatally shot two people nearby and later injured two others.Federal investigators called the attack far-right and antisemitic terrorism. The federal Public Prosecutor General took over the investigation and declared it to be a "violation of Germany's internal security." A 27-year-old German neo-Nazi from Saxony-Anhalt, Stephan Balliet, was charged with two counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder.On 10 November 2019, the suspect confessed to the charges before an investigative judge at the Federal Court of Justice. He is scheduled to stand trial in the summer of 2020.
