Netflix beställer ny stor serie om alla världshaven
Strömningsjätten Netflix har beställt en ny naturserie i flera delar från James Honeyborne, som skapade ”Blue planet II”. Det rapporterar Variety.
Serien har arbetstiteln ”Oceans” och ska fokusera på ett världshav per avsnitt – ”från Indiska oceanens tropiska vatten till Atlantens rasande vildhet”, skriver Netflix själva.
Inspelningen förväntas dra i gång senare i år.

James Honeyborne is an executive producer at BBC Natural History Unit where he has overseen some 35 films, working with multiple co-producers around the world. His projects include the Emmy Award-nominated series Wild New Zealand with National Geographic (U.S. TV channel), and the BAFTA-winning BBC1 series Big Blue Live with PBS.
Honeyborne conceived Blue Planet II in 2013. It was first broadcast on BBC1 in October 2017.He spent five years on attachment to John Downer Productions, co-directing the series Supernatural and Weird Nature, before returning to the BBC to make Wildlife on One documentaries with David Attenborough and to work on the strand Natural World (co-produced by Animal Planet and National Geographic Channel).
A keen scuba diver and photographer, he has also made a series of documentaries with world champion freediver, Tanya Streeter.
In 2009, he co-presented the BBC television series Wildest Dreams with Nick Knowles. In this reality TV series about wild animals, Honeyborne acted as mentor and judge to the candidates as they took on a series of filming challenges to compete for a placement at the BBC Natural History Unit.
From 2009 to 2013, he was series producer for Africa the BBC TV series which aired in 2013.

Blue Planet II is a 2017 British nature documentary series on marine life produced by the BBC Natural History Unit. Like its predecessor, The Blue Planet (2001), it is narrated and presented by naturalist Sir David Attenborough, while the main music score was composed by Hans Zimmer.The series was debuted on 29 October 2017 and was simulcast on BBC One, BBC One HD and BBC Earth, making it the first natural history series to premiere on the same day in the United Kingdom, Nordic regions, Europe and in Asia.
In the United States, the series premiered on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 9 PM as part of a five-network simulcast on BBC America, AMC, IFC, Sundance, and WE tv. Subsequent episodes aired on successive Saturdays on BBC America.
