”Oppenheimer” är den film med flest nomineringar inför Oscarsgalan: 13 stycken. Den är bland annat nominerad i kategorin bästa film och bästa regi för Christopher Nolan.
Cillian Murphy nomineras för bästa huvudroll samt Robert Downey Jr och Emily Blunt för bästa manliga respektive kvinnliga biroller.
Oscarsjuryn förvånade genom att varken nominera ”Barbie”-regissören Greta Gerwig eller huvudrollsinnehavaren Margot Robbie.
Galan, som går av stapeln 10 mars, leds för fjärde året i rad av Jimmy Kimmel.

The 96th Academy Awards is an upcoming ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which will honor the best films of 2023, and is expected to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, on March 10, 2024. The ceremony, to be televised in the United States by ABC, will be produced by Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the show for the fourth time, following the 89th ceremony in 2017, the 90th ceremony in 2018, and the 95th ceremony in 2023.
