Revansch för Warholm – EM-guld efter utklassning
Norske friidrottsstjärnan Karsten Warholm utklassade konkurrenterna på 400 meter häck och tog ett efterlängtat EM-guld. En revansch för 26-åringen, som haft en tuff säsong och bland annat slutade sjua på VM.
– Det är fruktansvärt härligt, en lättnad och en glädje. I dag är en fin dag, säger han till NRK.
Tvåa blev fransmannen Wilfried Happio, som sprang in nästan en och en halv sekund efter norrmannen.

Karsten Warholm (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈkɑʂtɛn ˈvɑrhɔ̂ɫm]; born 28 February 1996) is a Norwegian athlete and Olympic champion who competes in the sprints and hurdles. In July 2021, he broke the 29-year-old world record in 400 metres hurdles. The following month at the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles with a time of 45.94 seconds, breaking his own world record by over three-quarters of a second. The race has been described by many as one of the greatest in Olympic history due to the records set.
Warholm has also won gold in the event at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019, as well as the 2018 European
Championships. He is a two-time 400m hurdles Diamond League champion. In 2021, he was voted World Athletics Male Athlete of the Year.
