Forskare gör rejält försök att leta efter utomjordingar
Finns det någon där ute? Den frågan ska astronomer nu göra ett rejält försök att svara på, enligt flera medier.
Initiativet är ett samarbete mellan det privata Seti-institutet och VLA-observatoriet i New Mexico. Observatoriets 28 radioteleskop ska finkamma rymden på tecken på intelligent liv.
Att VLA är med i projektet innebär att chansen att hitta utomjordiskt liv ökar tiofaldigt, kanske till och med hundrafaldigt, säger astronomen Andrew Simon till BBC.
– Vi är nu redo för den mest omfattande sökningen efter intelligent liv någonsin, säger han.
