Kandidaterna som kan skriva historia på tisdag
Mångfald har blivit en politisk rörelse, vilket syns tydligt inför mellanårsvalet i USA nästa vecka, skriver NY Times.
Tidningen går igenom de 410 av totalt 964 kandidater som inte är vita män. Av dessa är 272 kvinnor, 215 tillhör minoritetsgrupper och 27 identifierar sig som homosexuella, bisexuella eller transpersoner.
Flera kandidater har chans att skriva historia, konstaterar tidningen. Bland annat nämner de Stacey Abrams – som kan bli USA:s första svarta kvinnliga guvernör – och Jared Polis – som kan bli landets första öppet homosexuella manliga guvernör.
