Ett drygt år efter att president Donald Trump svurits in som president håller han för första gången i natt sitt State of the union-tal. Talet kan ses som startpunkten för höstens mellanårsval till representanthuset och senaten, skriver AP.
Nyhetsbyrån har listat ett antal saker att hålla utkik efter under talet. Inför talet har både presidenten och hans stab beskrivit läget i landet som ”otroligt” bra. Frågan är om Trump kommer att vara mer nedtonad under sitt tal.
AP ställer sig också frågan om presidenten kommer att nämna ”elefanten i rummet”, den pågående utredningen om Rysslands eventuella inblandning i valet 2016.

The 2018 State of the Union Address will be given by the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 9 pm EST in the chamber of the United States House of Representatives. It will be addressed to the 115th United States Congress. It will be Donald Trump's first State of the Union Address and his second speech to a joint session of the United States Congress. U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy III and Virginia Delegate Elizabeth Guzmán will be giving the Democratic Party's response in English and Spanish respectively.
