225 miljoner lösenord donerade till Have I Been Pwned
Den brittiska polisen har donerat 225 miljoner stulna e-postadresser och lösenord till sajten Have I Been Pwned, en tjänst som kan användas av allmänheten för att kontrollera om ens inloggningsuppgifter hamnat i orätta händer. Det rapporterar Zdnet.
Troy Hunt – säkerhetsforskaren som driver sajten – säger att han har skapat en pipelineliknande funktion för polismyndigheter som vill rapportera in stulna lösenord som man kommit över. Och det är precis vad den brittiska polisen nu har gjort efter att ha man hittade lösenorden i samband med en undersökning av en hackad server.
Have I Been Pawned hade sedan tidigare 613 miljoner lösenord lagrade, och den brittiska polisens fynd innebär med andra ord ett rejält tillskott till tjänsten.

Have I Been Pwned? (HIBP, with "Pwned" pronounced like "poned", and stylized in all lowercase as “';--have i been pwned?”) is a website that allows Internet users to check whether their personal data has been compromised by data breaches. The service collects and analyzes hundreds of database dumps and pastes containing information about billions of leaked accounts, and allows users to search for their own information by entering their username or email address. Users can also sign up to be notified if their email address appears in future dumps.
