Artisten Diddy anklagas för åratal av våldtäkter

Hiphop-veteranen Sean ”Diddy” Combs, tidigare känd under artistnamnen Puff Daddy och P Diddy, anklagas för åratal av våldtäkter och misshandel av sångerskan Casandra ”Cassie” Ventura. Det rapporterar AFP.

I en stämningsansökan som lämnats in i New York anklagar Ventura rapparen och producenten för mer än tio år av övergrepp. De ska ha inlett en romantisk relation 2005, när hon var 19 och han 37, i samband med att han signade henne till sitt bolag Bad Boy Records.

I ett uttalande förnekar Combs advokat Ben Brafman ”kraftfullt” anklagelserna, och kallar dem ”stötande och skandalösa”. Combs anklagar Ventura för utpressning, och säger att hennes mål är att svärta ner hans rykte.

Sean Love Combs (born Sean John Combs; November 4, 1969), also known by his stage names Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, or Diddy, is an American rapper, singer, record producer, record executive and actor. Born in Harlem, Combs worked as a talent director at Uptown Records before founding his own record label, Bad Boy Records, in 1993. Combs has produced and cultivated artists such as the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Usher. Combs' debut album, No Way Out (1997), has been certified seven times platinum. The album was followed up with Forever (1999), The Saga Continues... (2001), and Press Play (2006). In 2009, Combs formed the musical group Diddy – Dirty Money with singers Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard; they released their collaborative album Last Train to Paris. In September 2023, Combs released his fifth studio album, The Love Album: Off the Grid. Combs has won three Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards and is the producer of MTV's Making the Band. In 1998, Combs founded the clothing retailer Sean John. He was nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America award for Menswear Designer of the Year in 2000 and won in 2004. He has been the brand ambassador for vodka retailer Cîroc since 2007, and co-founded the television network and news website Revolt in 2013. In 2022, Forbes estimated his net worth at US$1 billion.

Casandra Elizabeth Ventura (born August 26, 1986), known professionally as Cassie, is an American singer, songwriter, model, actress and dancer. Born in New London, Connecticut, she began her career as a result of meeting record producer Ryan Leslie in late 2004, who later signed her to NextSelection Lifestyle Group. During this time, Diddy heard "Me & U" in a club, and Leslie convinced him to partner his Bad Boy Records with Leslie's NextSelection imprint for the release of her debut album.Cassie's self-titled debut studio album was released in August 2006, peaking at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and features the Billboard Hot 100 top three hit "Me & U". In 2008, Cassie released the single "Official Girl" (featuring Lil Wayne). In April 2013, Cassie released her debut mixtape RockaByeBaby, which was promoted with the music videos of "Numb" (featuring Rick Ross) and "Paradise" (featuring Wiz Khalifa). Apart from music, Cassie is signed to modeling agency Wilhelmina Models and One Management. Cassie has modeled for Calvin Klein one and has been featured in magazines including GQ and Bust and becoming the face of ASOS 2013 spring collection, Cassie has appeared in adverts for Delia's, Adidas, Abercrombie & Fitch, Seventeen, and a commercial for Clean and Clear. Cassie has also ventured into acting; she made her film debut in Step Up 2: The Streets (2008).
