Folkomröstning om ESC på söndag – riskerar bantas
Eurovision Song Conteset (ESC) i Schweiz hotas av en folkomröstning i landet. Det skriver TT.
Det kristna högerpartiet EDU har krävt en folkomröstning om det ekonomiska stödet från Basel, den lokala regionen, till arrangemanget. Om det blir ett nej, måste ESC bantas ned rejält.
– I stället för en tio dagar lång festival skulle det bli en enda tv-sändning på lördagskvällen, säger Edi Estermann, presschef hos de schweiziska arrangörerna, till TT.
Radio- och tv-unionen EBU som bestämmer om ESC vill inte kommentera folkomröstningen.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is set to be the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is scheduled to take place in Basel, Switzerland, following the country's victory at the 2024 contest with the song "The Code" by Nemo.
Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), the contest will be held at St. Jakobshalle, and will consist of two semi-finals on 13 and 15 May, and a final on 17 May 2025.
