Google lägger ned Currents – satsar på Spaces
Google Currents lanserades 2019 som en uppföljare till den nedlagda sociala plattformen Google+ för G Suite. Men nu väljer Google att lägga ned tjänsten. Det rapporterar sajten 9 to 5 Google.
Google kommer istället att flytta användarna till Spaces, som är den amerikanska techjättens utmanare till tjänster som Slack och Discord.
Google uppger att man på sikt kommer att göra Spaces till en mer komplett ersättare till Currents, och flera nya funktioner kommer att lanseras på sikt.
Planen är att börja stänga ned Currents under nästa år, men många av de funktioner som används sällan kommer att börja plockas bort redan nu.
