Guardians analys visar: Oscarsvinnare allt äldre
Oscarsvinnare blir allt äldre, visar en analys som The Guardian har gjort. Tidningen har gått igenom de 20 äldsta vinnarna av priset bästa kvinnliga huvudroll och bästa manliga huvudroll efter 1950.
Inför årets gala är Glenn Close nominerad i kategorin bästa kvinnliga huvudroll för sin roll i ”The wife”.
Om Close vinner blir hon den tredje kvinnan som är över 70 år att ta hem priset. Tidigare har en 80-årig Jessica Tandy gjort samma sak, liksom Katharine Hepburn, som fick hela tre Oscarsstatyetter efter sin 60-årsdag.

The 91st Academy Awards, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2018. The ceremony will be held on February 24, 2019 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. AMPAS will present Academy Awards (commonly referred to as Oscars) in 24 categories. The ceremony will be televised in the United States by American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and produced by Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss, with Weiss also serving as director. It will be the first ceremony in three decades, since the 61st Academy Awards in 1989, to be conducted with no host.
In related events, the Academy held its 10th Annual Governors Awards ceremony at the Grand Ballroom of the Hollywood and Highland Center on November 18, 2018.
