Indien beordrar VPN-tjänster att samla in kunddata
Det indiska myndighetsorganet Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) har utfärdat ett nytt nationellt direktiv som innebär att VPN-tjänster med verksamhet i landet beordras samla in utförlig information om sina kunder, lagra den i fem år och dela den med myndigheterna på begäran.
Även om kunderna säger upp sina VPN-tjänster så måste företagen fortsätta lagra informationen.
Den indiska elektronik- och IT-myndigheten säger i ett uttalande att det nya direktivet ska fylla ”vissa tomrum” som idag hindrar dem från att besvara olika typer av cyberincidenter.
