Nytt parti i USA vill bort från tvåpartisystemet
Tiotals tidigare republikanska och demokratiska politiker i USA har gått samman för att bilda ett nytt parti, kallat Forward Party (”Framåtpartiet”). Det rapporterar Reuters.
Partiet kommer att ledas av den tidigare demokratiske presidentkandidaten Andrew Yang och den tidigare republikanska New Jersey-guvernören Christine Todd Whitman.
Målet uppges vara att locka miljontals väljare som tröttnat på de två stora partier som i hundratals år dominerat det amerikanska politiska landskapet.
Forward Party, som beskriver sig som ett centerparti, har ännu inte utformat något politiskt program. Under hösten kommer partiledarna kampanja i ett tjugotal städer.

The Forward Party (FWD) is a political action committee (PAC) that seeks to form a new populist and radical centrist political party in the United States. The Forward Party has one political party affiliate at the state-level seeking to achieve ballot access in 30 states by 2023, and ballot access in all 50 states by 2024.The PAC, which was founded by former Democratic 2020 presidential and 2021 New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang, describes its goals as the reduction of partisan polarization and implementing electoral reforms. The Forward Party was officially formed as a political action committee on October 5, 2021. The PAC intends to seek recognition from the Federal Election Commission as a political party to achieve its stated goal of providing an alternative to the two major American parties. However, it also states that for the time being, candidates affiliated with the organization will remain members of the two major American political parties, as well as independent candidates.
