Partiet manade till protest: ”Svaret på H&M:s rasism”
H&M-butiker har i dag vandaliserats i Sydafrika som ett svar på den kritiserade reklamen. Bakom protesterna ligger partiet Economic Freedom Fighters, EFF.
På Twitter skriver partiets vice ordförande Floyd Shivambu att det här är svaret på H&M:s rasism.
”H&M, den där nonsensklädbutiken, får nu möta konsekvenserna av sin rasism. Alla rationella människor borde inse att butiken inte borde tillåtas att verka i Sydafrika”, skriver Shivambu till sina drygt 400 000 följare och berömmer de som ”fysiskt konfronterade rasismen”.
Bakgrunden är att H&M haft en annons där en mörkhyad pojke burit en hoodie med trycket ”Coolest monkey in the jungle”. Klädjätten har dragit tillbaka annonsen och bett om ursäkt efter massiv kritik.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a South African revolutionary socialist political party started by expelled former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Julius Malema, and his allies, in 2013. Malema is President of the EFF, heading the Central Command Team which serves as the central structure of the party.
It is currently the third-largest party in both houses of the South African parliament, receiving 1,169,259 votes and a 6.35% share of the vote in the 2014 general election. By December 2014, the EFF claimed to have over half a million members, although this has not been independently verified.

Nyiko Floyd Shivambu (born 1 January 1983) is a South African politician serving as a member of parliament for the Economic Freedom Fighters. He was born in Malamulele, Limpopo. He is the Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters, its Parliamentary Chief Whip in the South African Parliament, who serves in the Trade and Industry Portfolio Committee and the Standing Committee on Finance. Shivambu is also a Member of the Pan African Parliament, serving in the Rural Economy, Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Committee.
