Republikanernas nya plan för att stoppa Trump
Dussintals delegater på den republikanska kongressen försöker verkställa en ny plan för att stoppa Donald Trump från att bli partiets presidentkandidat. Washington Post beskriver planerna som de ”hittills mest organiserade försöken” att hejda Trumps nominering. De senaste dagarna har andelen väljare som har en negativ uppfattning om fastighetsmiljardären nått nya höjder, något som ökat oron inom partiet.
– Det här är bokstavligen en ”Vem som helst utom Trump”-kampanj, säger delegaten Kendal Unruh till Washington Post.

The 2016 Republican National Convention, in which delegates of the United States Republican Party will choose the party's nominees for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States in the 2016 national election, will be held July 18–21, 2016. The convention is to be held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. This will mark the third time Cleveland has hosted this event, and the first since 1936. In addition to determining the party's national ticket, the convention will also write the party platform.
There are 2,472 delegates to the Republican National Convention, and a candidate needs a simple majority comprising 1,237 or more delegates to win the presidential nomination. Most of those delegates are bound for at least the first ballot of the convention based on the results of the 2016 Republican presidential primaries.
This will be the first Republican National Convention to be held entirely in July since 1980.
