Binance-grundaren benådas: ”Kriget mot krypto är över”
USA:s president Donald Trump har benådat kryptobörsen Binances grundare Changpeng Zhao. Det rapporterar Wall Street Journal.
– Bidenadministrationens krig mot krypto är över, säger Vita husets pressekreterare Karoline Leavitt, som bekräftar benådningen.
Changpeng Zhao dömdes förra året till fyra månaders fängelse efter att ha erkänt penningtvättsanklagelser. De senaste månaderna har han arbetat med att försöka stärka Trumpfamiljens kryptobolag World Liberty Financial.
Zhao har redan avtjänat straffet men har ändå tagit hjälp av tunga lobbyister för att säkra en benådan.

Changpeng Zhao (Chinese: 趙長鵬; pinyin: Zhào Chángpéng; born 1977), commonly known as CZ, is a Chinese-born Canadian businessman. Zhao is the co-founder and former CEO of Binance. He resigned as the CEO in November 2023 after pleading guilty to a money laundering charge in the United States and was sentenced to four months in prison in April 2024 and completed his sentence by September of the same year.
According to Forbes, Zhao was ranked the 21st-richest person in the world, and the richest Canadian, with a net worth estimated at $88.0 billion as of October 2025.
On April 7, 2024, he was appointed by the Pakistan Ministry of Finance as a strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council. He will guide look-over and promote crypto and blockchain technology in the country
On May 3, 2025, he was appointed as an advisor to the president of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, on the development of digital assets.
