Portad rysstrio åter välkomna till WEF i Davos

Efter hårda påtryckningar från Moskva välkomnas nu återigen tre kända ryska affärsmän som tidigare varit portade till World Economic Forum i Davos, rapporterar Financial Times.

Affärsmännen, Oleg Deripaska, Viktor Vekselberg och Andrej Kostin, är tre Putinnära oligarker som uteslöts från deltagande efter amerikanska påtryckningar. Trion har också genom sanktioner förbjudits att resa inom EU, men har alltså inga formella hinder för inresande i Schweiz, rapporterar tidningen.

Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska (Russian: Оле́г Влади́мирович Дерипа́ска; born 2 January 1968) is a Russian oligarch. He is the founder of Basic Element, one of Russia's largest industrial groups, and Volnoe Delo, Russia's largest charitable foundation. Until 2018, he was the president of En+ Group, a Russian energy-related company, and United Company Rusal, the second largest aluminium company in the world.After graduating from Moscow State University with a degree in physics, Deripaska became a metals broker specialized in trading aluminium before expanding into energy, machinery, financial services and agribusiness. In 2000, Deripaska founded Rusal, the result of a partnership between Sibirsky Aluminium and Roman Abramovich's Millhouse Capital. In 2007, Rusal merged with SUAL Group and Glencore International AG to form UC Rusal, with Deripaska as chairman.He was once Russia's richest man, worth $28 billion, but lost a substantial part of his fortune amid the 2007–08 financial crisis. As of August 2018, his wealth was estimated by Forbes at $3.3 billion.Deripaska is also known for his connection to American political consultant Paul Manafort, who has been convicted on charges of tax fraud, bank fraud and failure to report foreign bank accounts, which stemmed from Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. Deripaska employed Manafort from at least 2005 to 2009.As the founder of Volnoe Delo foundation, he is reported to have donated more than $250 million to mostly educational causes. He was married to Polina Yumasheva, step-granddaughter of former Russian President Boris Yeltsin and daughter of Valentin Yumashev, Yeltsin's son-in-law and close advisor. According to some media reports, they were divorced in 2018.Deripaska was also granted Cypriot citizenship in 2017.

Viktor Felixovich Vekselberg (Russian: Виктор Феликсович Вексельберг, Ukrainian: Віктор Феліксович Вексельберг; born 14 April 1957) is a Ukrainian-born Russian businessman. He is the owner and president of Renova Group, a large Russian conglomerate. According to Forbes, his fortune is estimated at $13.6 billion, making him the fourth richest person in Russia, as of August 4, 2015.Vekselberg is close to the Moscow Kremlin, overseeing projects to modernize the Russian economy. In April 2018, the United States imposed sanctions on him and 23 other Russian nationals. On May 9, 2018, CNN reported that investigators from the Special Counsel investigation have questioned Vekselberg about hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments his company's US affiliate made to US President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.
