Pro-version av Apples M2-chipp uppges vara på gång
Apple presenterade så sent som i måndags sin nya M2-processor i samband med öppnandet av utvecklarkonferensen WWDC. Men redan senare i år kommer produktionen av en mer kraftfull Pro-modell av M2-chippet att inledas. Det hävdar åtminstone analytikern Jeff Pu vid Haitong International Tech Research, skriver sajten 9 to 5 Mac.
M2 Pro-chippet kommer enligt Pu till skillnad från det nyligen lanserade M2-chippet att tillverkas i en 3-nanometersprocess.
Hur mycket mer kraftfullt Pro-chippet blir återstår att se.

Apple silicon is a series of system on a chip (SoC) and system in a package (SiP) processors designed by Apple Inc., mainly using the ARM architecture. It is the basis of most new Mac computers as well as iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Watch, and of products such as AirPods, HomePod and its successor HomePod Mini, iPod Touch, and AirTag.
Apple announced its plan to switch Mac computers from Intel processors to Apple silicon at WWDC 2020 on June 22, 2020. The first Macs built with the Apple M1 processor were unveiled on November 10, 2020. By mid 2022, most Mac models were built with Apple silicon; only select models of the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro still use Intel Core processors.Apple outsources the chips' manufacture but fully controls their integration with the company's hardware and software. Johny Srouji is in charge of Apple's silicon design.
