Tumult vid påskparad i Sevilla – flera vållade panik
Ett hundratal personer skadades och åtta personer har gripits vid tumult under påskprocessioner i Sevilla i Spanien. Enligt myndigheterna fanns det bråkstakar som hade för avsikt att vålla panik. På minst tre ställen uppstod tumult i trängseln.
Processionerna är traditionsenliga och är en slags passionsspel som kretsar kring kristendomens påskberättelse – de mest berömda hålls i Sevilla. De utförs av sällskap som efter omfattande förberedelser tågar genom staden i långa kåpor och med spetsiga huvor.

Holy Week in Seville is known as Semana Santa de Sevilla. It is one of the city’s two biggest annual festivals, the other being the Feria de Abril (April Fair), which follows two weeks later. It is celebrated in the week leading up to Easter (Holy Week among Christians), and features the procession of pasos, floats of lifelike wooden sculptures of individual scenes of sorrowfull Mysteries of the Rosary, or images of the grieving Virgin Mary.
