EU-valet väntas bli storfiasko för Mays Tories
EU-valet i Storbritannien väntas sluta i fiasko för premiärminister Theresa Mays konservativa parti, skriver TT.
Både Tories och Labour ser ut att straffas hårt av väljarna för sin oförmåga att nå fram till ett beslut om brexit. I stället verkar Nigel Farages nya brexitparti gå starkt framåt, enligt färska opinionsmätningar.
”Låt oss ge Westminster (det brittiska parlamentet och regeringskvarteren) en läxa som de aldrig kommer att glömma. Vi behöver er röst för att rädda demokratin”, twittrade han i samband med valet.
Inga valresultat presenteras förrän på söndag.

The Brexit Party is a political party campaigning for the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU). Generally described as populist, it draws its support from those who are frustrated with the current implementation of the 2016 referendum and wish to leave the EU without remaining part of the single market or customs union. The Brexit Party portrays itself as a being focused on the restoration of Britain’s democratic sovereignty. Its primary policy is for the UK to withdraw from EU and to trade on World Trade Organization terms until formal trade agreements can be made.
Since March 2019, it has been led by Nigel Farage, a former UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader.
The party currently has fourteen Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), and four Welsh Assembly members all of whom were originally elected as UKIP candidates.
