Två av tre israeler saknar tilltro till operationen
Nästan två av tre israeler har ingen tilltro till att IDF:s pågående operation i Gaza kommer att leda till att gisslan släpps och Hamas besegras. Det visar en ny opinionsmätning från Israel Democracy Institute.
37 procent tror att målet att få hem gisslan uppnås, och 38,5 procent att Hamas kommer att besegras och tappa makten i Gaza.
Operationen, av IDF kallad ”Gideons vagnar”, inleddes den 4 maj med syftet att ta kontroll över hela Gazaremsan och besegra Hamas.

On 4 May 2025, Israel's security cabinet approved a plan to expand its military offensive in the Gaza Strip. Codenamed Operation Gideon's Chariots (Hebrew: מבצע מרכבות גדעון), the Israel Defense Forces aim to defeat Hamas, destroy its military and governing capabilities, and take control over the entire Gaza Strip. The operation involves combined military force from land, air, and sea. On 16 May, Israel announced the launch of the operation. The United Nations Human Rights Office condemned the offensive as tantamount to ethnic cleansing.
