Altman: ”Varit usla på att förklara nyttan med AI”
Open AI-chefen Sam Altman tycker att AI-branschen har misslyckats med att kommunicera fördelarna med tekniken.
– På det hela taget har branschen gjort ett uselt jobb, säger han i en tv-intervju med Bloomberg.
Bland annat menar Altman att AI kan stärka människors kreativitet och entreprenörskap.
Uttalandet kommer samtidigt som Open AI lanserar sin nya toppmodell GPT-6 Astra. Bolaget har beskrivit modellen som ett tidigt steg mot generell artificiell intelligens (AGI), alltså AI som på många områden överträffar mänskliga förmågor.

Beyond AGI, artificial superintelligence (ASI) would outperform the best human abilities across every domain by a wide margin. Creating AGI is a stated goal of technology companies such as OpenAI, Google, SpaceXAI, and Meta. A 2020 survey identified 72 active AGI research and development projects across 37 countries.
AGI is a common topic in science fiction and futures studies.
Contention exists over whether AGI represents an existential risk. Some AI experts and industry figures have stated that mitigating the risk of human extinction posed by AGI should be a global priority. Others find the development of AGI to be in too remote a stage to present such a risk.
